There's something about summer that kicks sex up a notch. There are early dismissals at work, an overall vibe of fun, and, of course, all the half-naked men roaming the beaches and parks. So, without further adieu, let's celebrate our favorite season with nine reasons why summer sex is the best. 
1. When the heat is up, the clothes come off. Summer is a smorgasbord of exposed bodies. With all that skin roaming free, your mind can't help but wander.
2. Forget fireworks—you can have waterworks. When water temperatures rise, you're no longer confined to the shower[1] if you want a little wet-and-wild action.
3. You can get it on in the great outdoors. If you steer clear of children's parks, packed campgrounds, and crowded public venues, the outdoor world is your oyster. Get frisky while the sun sets in your backyard or park your car at a scenic spot for a heated makeout that can lead to more.
4. Sweating makes you horny. After a hot, sweaty run, you just want to jump into the shower with someone.
5. You're in the best shape of the year. We work our asses off, quite literally, to be ready for bikini season[2]. And that kind of body confidence translates into fearless fun during sex.
6. Road trips and sexy adventures. Summer is the season for weekend trips and changes of scenery. In case you didn't know, vacation sex is a whole 'nother kind of amazing.
7. Summer vibes are playful. You're likely partaking in canoeing, picnicking, laying out, or grilling—either way, happy vibes are ever-present. People bring those feel-good emotions into the bedroom.
8. The rebel inside comes out in the summer. The summer heat brings out the animal inside. Blindfolds, bondage, or otherwise adventurous sex? Bring it on.
