Max Greenfield[1] is about to have his busiest summer ever. In July, he'll start shooting the newest installment of American Horror Story[2], followed by the arrival of his second child—with wife Tess Sanchez—in August, and then season five of New Girl[3]. So what does one do if things get a little overwhelming at home? Easy! Hand off your children to your co-star!

At the 14th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball[4] last night in Los Angeles—which Max hosted for the third year—he explained his plan. "[Tess and I] are due in August. Zooey [Deschanel][5]'s due in July. I'm going to drop the child off at Zooey's house and see what happens. We'll take turns. I'll take [hers], she'll take [mine], and we'll go back and forth. It will be lovely!" he joked. Safe to say, Zooey does not know about this plan, and we're guessing she may not be on board with it considering Max has a 5-year-old daughter too. Maybe if he convinces his AHS: Hotel co-star Lady Gaga[6] to guest star on New Girl, Zooey might be game? Still, Max isn't sure if he'll be sharing scenes with the soon-to-be Mrs. Taylor Kinney (if he does know, he's not saying).
"I've never met her," he admitted. But he's got a plan for that too. "If for some reason I'm not working with her, you better believe [I will show up] and say, 'Oh, I thought I was working today! I'm not? Oh, well maybe I'll just stop in and say hi to Gaga.'
Also at the charity gala was Max's former co-star Ben Feldman[7]. Are you racking your brain trying to think of what the two starred in together? You won't believe it, so just watch the trailer below from a movie they did 10 years ago:
"Max was a Hasidic Jew, and I was his brother," explained Ben of the 2005 film. "It's great. It's all of us just sitting around waiting to eat!"
Before we could tell the former A to Z star about our desire to watch his vintage performance, talk turned to the recent Belmont Stakes and new Triple Crown winner, American Pharoah. "I have a new show [on NBC] called Superstore [with America Ferrera], and every time I hear about [American Pharoah], I have to do a double take because I think they just said, 'America Ferrera[8] just won the Triple Crown.' It's very confusing. She said, 'Yeah, people have mentioned that to me before when they talk about that horse.'"

Scandal's Darby Stanchfield[9] was also on hand to present Shondaland executive producer Betsy Beers[10] with one of the evening's honors, praising her boss for "being a wealth of information and a personal mentor to me." Betsy herself was a little more blunt when it came to describing what the evening and award meant to her: "It's just so f--king cool!" Four-letter words aside, "I'm just really lucky because I really love what I get to do." Betsy is a beloved leader on Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and the upcoming The Catch, which was evidenced by the casts of those shows recording personal messages of congrats to their fun-loving boss.

Rebecca Gayheart-Dane started the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball 14 years ago to raise money for the Los Angeles-based organization, which helps homeless and low-income individuals become self-sufficient by providing them with the necessary skills to get permanent employment. Rebecca and her husband, Eric Dane[11] (TNT's The Last Ship), work throughout the year to make the Butterfly Ball the biggest fundraiser for Chrysalis, and this year they had a bit more help—daughters Billie Beatrice, 5, and Georgia Geraldine, 3.

Director and actress Elizabeth Banks[12] (looking quite regal!) posed for photos on the white carpet before heading inside to the event. Others on hand included Seth Rogen[13] and his wife, Lauren, as well as Elizabeth Berkley[14] and her husband, Greg Lauren.

James Van Der Beek[15] and his wife, Kimberly Brook, left their kids at home for a rare date-night out. Van Der Beek currently stars on CBS' new drama, CSI: Cyber.

Longtime Chrysalis supporter (and Hollywood's go-to executive style consultant) Andrew Weitz (CEO of The Weitz Effect[16]) joined his wife, Stacy Weitz, for the evening's festivities.

Paula Patton[17] was one of the last to arrive, bypassing press, but posing on the carpet in a voluminous, yet structured, print dress.
Vince Vaughn[18] had the crowd in stitches later in the evening as he introduced Dreamworks CEO, Michael Wright, with the Spirit of Chrysalis Award.
Sharon Stone wowed in a white and gold Grecian goddess look at the event, which was sponsored by Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors Foundation, Audi, Lauren B. Beauty and Z Gallerie. At that end of the night, guests indulged in burgers and fries from The Habit, cupcakes, cookies and ice-cream from Sprinkles, candy from Dylan's Candy Bar, and other totally healthy snacks (we kid).

Kristen Bell[19] joined Max Greenfield on stage to help raise money for Chrysalis, even offering to record voicemails as her Frozen character, Anna, for hefty donations. (It seemed to work!)

Aloe Blacc and his wife, Maya Jupiter, performed a medley of hits, including "Wake Me Up."
