My 6 Favorite Things: Inside RKoBH Star Roxy Sowlaty's Beverly Hills Apartment

My 6 Favorite Things: Inside RKoBH Star Roxy Sowlaty's Beverly Hills Apartment

While she may trade on her wealthy family pedigree as a star on E!'s hit reality TV show Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, Roxy Sowlaty boasts impressive accomplishments of her own in real life—after graduating with a business degree from USC, she earned a master's in interior design from New York City's prestigious Parsons New School of Design. She worked on homes in Manhattan and in tony Aspen—and later launched her own interior design business in LA. It'll come as no surprise, then, that Sowlaty's own Beverly Hills apartment is drop-dead gorgeous.

Here are Sowlaty's six favorite nooks and crannies in the place she calls home base:

1. My vanity area: "My Martinique banana leaf print upholstered desk chair I collaborated to design with Throne Upholstery is my favorite piece! It reminds me of the Beverly Hills Hotel and always puts a smile on my face! I also love my mirrored desk/vanity. I actually got it from Urban Outfitters a few years back and I just adore it."

2. My Princess candle: "I am obsessed with candles and scents and think it is so important for your home to always smell good. I definitely see scents as an extension of your room's decor. That's what inspired me to make candles and I, of course, have one in every room. They are so fragrant and smell incredible." (Ed note: You can fragrance your home with her Princess candle[1] too—it smells divine!)

3. My monogrammed bedding: "Monogram-anything always reads custom, expensive and chic. I'm very into white sheets and bedding because I feel like it always looks the most clean and inviting. Sometimes all white can get boring, so adding a simple (or in my case gilded and regal) monogram can transform your plain white bedding into looking fantastic and custom! I love how my monogram turned out, it feels very sophisticated and princess-y."

4. My curtains: "Window treatments can transform a space. By hanging them higher and wider than your windows, you can make your room feel bigger, taller and look more complete. I love the charcoal velvet curtains and thick brass curtain rods I have from West Elm—they look really expensive but were pretty reasonably priced. They compliment the deco feel of the apartment and contrast with the otherwise all-white and peach room!"

5. My dining room: "I love my dining room. It's so bright and happy. It is where I spend most of my time—whether it's designing floor plans or glamming, I always end up in this room. I'm obsessed with Carrara marble, so I found a cool lucite table base on eBay and had my marble fabricator cut a piece of marble for me as a table top in the shape of an emerald. I then found these cool retro dining chairs on eBay also and had then upholstered in a peach vinyl. I just love the color palette—and Slim Aaron's hanging is also a favorite too."

6. My black and white checkered floors: "I'm such a DIY girl and I knew I wanted black and white checkered floors in my kitchen. I don't own my apartment and only plan on living here for a year, so it didn't make sense for me to re-tile the floors. So I found these amazing stick-on floor tiles on Amazon that I installed myself...I think it looks fabulous."
