Reports: Brian Williams Out as Anchor of NBC's Nightly News

Brian Williams[1] will not be returning to his post as anchor of NBC's Nightly News, according to multiple reports[2]. He was suspended[3] from his position back in February, after his story of taking RPG fire in a military helicopter on assignment in Iraq came under question.

Lester Holt, who stepped in for Williams, will reportedly permanently replace him as the anchor of Nightly News. Williams, however, is not completely out at NBC. According to the reports, which NBC is expected to confirm today, he will move to a new role at NBC News, primarily at the cable network MSNBC, which has suffered recent ratings declines. Williams will most likely start in a breaking-news capacity, according to the reports.

One person likely happy to hear this news is daughter Allison Williams[4], who stated back in February that she "can't wait until [her dad] is back on TV"[5] and put her wedding plans on hold following his suspension[6].

What's your take on this move?
