How can you not fall in love with miniature blue creatures with cheeks so cute you just want to pinch them 24/7? After growing up with the Smurfs not only in comic book-form, but also in the major motion pictures The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2, we weren't quite ready to say goodbye. Good thing we don't have to, because it's just been announced that a third flick is on the way and it's starring one of our all-time favorites.
Demi Lovato[1] will Get Smurfy in the latest reboot set to hit theaters in 2017 as Smurfette. If you remember, Katy Perry[2] voiced the character in the previous two movies, so we're excited to see the fun new twist the musician gives the sole female Smurf in the group.
This time, the film[3] will follow Smurfette and the rest of the Smurfs "as they search the Enchanted Forest for the fabled Smurfs village." The Office's Rainn Wilson is taking over the role of Gargamel, and Mandy Patinkin (Homeland, Criminal Minds) will voice Papa Smurf. Between these three actors, this one might be the best yet.
