Hold the Phone: J.K. Rowling Just Revealed There's An American Hogwarts

Calling all the stateside Harry Potter fans: Your dreams of joining the ranks of our favorite witches and wizards just got a little closer to home. In a frustratingly evasive Twitter conversation with her fans, J.K. Rowling confirmed the existence of an American version of Hogwarts. The good news? We're all accepted. The bad news? We don't know much about it. But we can try to put our Muggle brains together and decipher the few clues Rowling dropped...

Starting with, she did confirm the existence of a U.S. school of witchcraft and wizardry:

Then, she revealed it's going to play a part in the upcoming Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them—and dropped the first location hint:

OK, so not in New York. That leaves 49 other states. Thankfully, there are more clues:

And it's not the Salem Witches Institute[4] mentioned in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:

And the clues stop there. It's hardly a lot of information to go on, but I'm going to throw out a wild guess (with hardly any evidence to support it): The school will be in Alaska and involve the Inuit tribe. What are your guesses for the location of this American Hogwarts?
